| Comments： | Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BamHI--3.1, 1.6, 0.23; BamHI/SmaI--3.25, 1.40, 0.3; BglI--2.9, 1.25, 0.6, 0.38; HindIII--3.4, 1.55; XhoI--3.25, 1.90. The insert contains the following restriction sites (approximate kb from the 5 end): SmaI--0.11; BglI--0.31, 0.65; HindIII--0.96; BamHI--1.34. Although the GenBank K02581 gives the gene symbol for this sequence as TK2, this is the cDNA derived from the genomic sequence M15205, the gene for thymidine kinase 1 (TK1). Contains the complete coding sequence (nt 58-762). A 1.25 kb SmaI/BamHI fragment has been used as a hybridization probe. It detects a 3.0 kb HindIII fragment in chickens. |
