| Comments: | Consists of 5 SfiI fragments, 3 internal ones (70, 110, and 300 kb) and the YAC ends (50 and 70 kb). The smallest fragment found to contain all the exons for GART is a 45 kb BssHII fragment. The GART gene is toward the acentric end of the clone and the IFNGT1 gene is within 150 kb of the centric end. When transferred into CHO cells, the clone complements the purine requirement of CHO Ade-C cells (lacking PRGS/GARS) and Ade-CG cells (lacking PRGS/GARS and PAIS/AIRS). Both ends of the insert map to chromosome 21, suggesting a non-chimeric insert in this YAC. |
