The insert contains the following restriction sites (nucleotide positions according to GenBank K02782): EcoRI--342; HindIII--428; BamHI--1093; BglII--1897, 2027; StuI--1982, 2223, 4041; PstI--2011, 2676, 3511, 3607; PvuI--4017. One of the PstI sites on the insert was destroyed during cloning. The insert begins 5 of the EcoRI site at position 342 of the published sequence and extends 3 between the StuI site at 4041 and the SalI site at 4677. It encodes most of the beta chain (129-2054) and part of the alpha (2067-5045). |
