The insert contains the following restriction sites (in approximate kb from the 5 end): BamHI--0.6; BalI--1150; HincII--1375; EcoRI--2150, HindIII--2400. The 3 0.72 kb EcoRI fragment localizes specifically to 3q26-qter by in situ hybridization. The full length cDNA detects CHE1, CHEL2 and CHEL3 on chromosome 16, but with lower efficiency than chromosome 3.
