| Comments： | Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--7.2, 2.6, 1.6; AvaI--3.2, 2.7, 1.9, 1.6, 1.2, 0.7; PstI--5.75, 4.8, 0.85; HindIII--6.8, 4.6; BamHI--7.0, 4.4. The insert contains the following restriction sites (approximate kb from the 5 BamHI site): EcoRI--2.0, 3.6 (exon 2); HindIII--6.6 (exon 7); PstI--4.6, 5.5. Nuclear proteins from tissues expression the gene bind specifically to two regions of intron 3. The sequence of the intron is available in GenBank J04465. A BanII fragment (nt -639 to +1395, or nt 2.0 to nt 4.03 relative to the 5 BamHI site), has been demonstrated to contain sequences recognized by developmentally regulated male transacting factors. Transcriptional control is positive.
