| Comments: | Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI/PvuII--2.6, 0.47, 0.24; EcoRI--3.3; HindIII--3.3; EcoRI/HindIII--2.85, 0.42; PvuII--2.55, 0.68. All of the RFLPs detected are in complete linkage disequilibrium suggesting a deletion accounts for the variation. Insert contains sequence from the 14th intron of the argininosuccinate synthetase gene. HindIII RFLP is also detected by MboI, BglII, XbaI and SstI. The population studied was CEPH (Centre dEtude du Polymorphisme Humain) families.
