| Morphology: | Colonies on malt extract agar are usually spreading, yellow green, and the reverse is colorless to dark red brown; occasionally dominated by hard sclerotia, white at first, becoming red brown to almost black with age (400-700 µm diam.). Conidial heads are typically radiate, splitting into several poorly defined columns, rarely exceeding 500-600 µm diam. Conidia are typically globose to subglobose, conspicuously echinulate, variable, 3.5x964.5 µm diam., sometimes elliptical or pyriform at first and occasionally remaining so. |
