Strain: BALB/c
Applications:
The antibody reacts with the small subunit of bovine mu-caplain and m-calpain.
It cross-reacts with the small subunit of human and canine mu-caplain and m-calpain.
The antibody can be used for immunochemical and Western blot applications.
It is a useful tool for detecting and localizing the small subunit of calpain.
Storage Conditions: liquid nitrogen vapor phase
Derivation:
Animals were immunized with purified bovine myocardial calpain 2
Spleen cells were fused with FOX-NY myeloma cells.
Genes Expressed:
immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against the small subunit of calpain
Cellular Products:
immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against the small subunit of calpain

Complete Growth Medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, ATCC 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum (ATCC 30-2020) to a final concentration of 10%.
Subculturing: Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 3 x 104 viable cells/mL. Maintain cell concentration between 3 x 104 and 3 x 105 viable cells/mL.

Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density)

Cryopreservation:

Complete growth medium described above supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO.xa0 Cell culture tested DMSO is available as ATCC Catalog No. 4-X.

Culture Conditions:
Temperature: 37°C
Atmosphere: Air, 95%; Carbon dioxide (CO2), 5%
Isotype: IgG1 kappa , IgG1; kappa light chain
Population Doubling Time: 24 hours
Name of Depositor: R Lane, RL Mellgren
