The insert contains the following restriction sites (nt from the 5 end): PstI--185, 497, 789; PvuII--273. Encodes the complete mature apoE protein except for 8 amino acids at the amino terminus. Detects a mRNA of about 1.4 kb in mouse liver. Excision by a partial PstI digest retains the extra Cs from the homopolymeric tailing. |
