Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--5.4, BamHI--3.2, 2.15; PstI--2.1, 1.4, 0.9 + smaller; SacI--5.4; HindIII--4.8, 0.4. At the amino acid level, murine and human C4bp are 51% identical in the regions aa 1-247 and aa 376-546 (human C4BP numbering). Murine protein lacks the fifth and sixth repeating units of human C4BP (aa 248-375). |
