Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--19, 13, 3.8.
Sequences at the 3 end of the insert apparently rearranged during cloning and include an internal artificial EcoRI site.
The region between bases -170 and -235 of the published sequence is highly GC rich (91%).
The 5 end of the insert is 430 bp upstream of ATG of exon 1. The insert contains exon 1, but not exon 2. The insert contains no canonical promoters or enhancers, but the region between -234 and -49 is necessary for transcription.
