Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--5.4, 2.7; HindIII--8.3; BamHI--8.3; PstI--4.5, 2.8, 0.57; AccI--5.0, 2.96.
Cross-hybridizes weakly to alphoid repeats on chromosomes 13, 14, and 15. Hybridize at high stringency (50 C, 50% formamide) to avoid cross-hybridization. Also a marker for deletion interval 4B.
Shows Y specificity, but at high stringency it detects a repeated Y specific EcoRI fragment of 5.5 kb (DXZ3).
