| Comments： | Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--2.7, 1.9; BamHI--4.6; HindIII--4.1, 0.6; PstI--4.6; SalI--4.6. DNA of the lethal yellowing agent was isolated from Manila palm (Veitchia merrillii). The extent to which the lethal yellowing DNA probes hybridize to other mollicute DNAs varies according to the hybridization conditions. Hybridizes broadly to DNA of Florida MLOs. Also detects African coconut lethal decline agents associated with lethal disease (Tanzania) and Awka disease (Nigeria). Also hybridizes to DNA of the Cocos spiroplasma, other spiroplasmas and to acholeplasma DNAs. |
