Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--5.7, 4.0; HindIII--8.3, 1.4; BamHI--7.0, 2.7; PstI--5.4, 4.3; SalI--9.7.
This insert is repeat-free.
The insert contains part of the original HindIII fragment of p4D-8 (ATCC 57060, 57061). A BamHI/XbaI fragment of this clone (p4D8-IVe) detects one of the two XmnI RFLPs (D1, D2) more clearly (1.5% agarose gels, 16 cm migration of 1.35 kb marker).
DXS98 shows close linkage to FRAXA (theta = 0.10, LOD score = 17.31).
DXS98 is proximal to FRAXA by in situ hybridization.
Combined heterozygosity for the polymorphisms detected by p4D-8 (ATCC 57060, 57061), p4D8-B (ATCC 61572, 61573), and p4D8-IV (ATCC 61574, 61575) is 48%.
