| Comments: | The insert contains a BamHI site (in the region encoding the triple-helical domain) and an XhoI site. Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--2.7, 2.5; HindIII--5.2; BamHI--3.9, 1.3; PstI--5.2; XbaI--5.2. COL6A1 and COL6A2 are closely linked (about 200 kb). The insert encodes the complete triple-helical domain, extending about 1.5 kb 3 from that domain. The insert detects a mRNA of about 3.5 kb in human fibroblasts. |
