| Comments： | Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--4.6; EcoRI/HindIII--3.1, 1.5; PstI--4.6; EcoRI--3.1, 1.5. The alpha 1(XII) collagen gene gives rise to two molecular variants, differing in the length of the finger-like regions, by alternative splicing of the primary transcript. The long form is the predominant form at early stages; the short form later stages. The long form is ATCC#63447 and the short form is ATCC#63446. This was constructed by TA cloning of the PCR product. |
