PubMed: 12789271UACC-2087 was derived from a 51 year-old female with breast cancer. The patient underwent chemotherapy. This cell line is a triple negative breast cancer cell line. Estrogen receptors, progesterone receptors and HER-2/neu are negative in the cells. The expression of tumor suppressor MAPSIN and cell adhesion molecules DSC3 is also negative in this cell line.

| Complete Growth Medium: | The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Leibovitzs L-15 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2008. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium:
|
| Subculturing: | Note: This cell line grows slowly. Protocol: Volumes used in this protocol are for 75 cm2 flasks; proportionally reduce or increase amount of dissociation medium for culture vessels of other sizes.
Subcultivation ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:2 to 1:3 is recommended. Medium renewal: every 3 to 4 days |
| Cryopreservation: | Freeze medium: complete growth medium, 80%; FBS, 10%; DMSO, 10% Storage temperature: liquid nitrogen vapor phase |
| Culture Conditions: | Temperature: 37.0°C Atmosphere: air, 100% |
