The GenBank accession M26946 contains the sequence from 1228 to 2443 of the sequence in the Nature paper.
pDP1125 is the 5 EcoRI fragment of cDNA2. It extends from nucleotide -426 through nucleotide +2592 of the published sequence. It includes the complete coding sequence with 5 and 3 flanking regions but does not include the Alu repeat.
The clone detects transcripts of 6.3 and 8.0 kb from ZFX. It encodes the protein of 804 amino acids.
The insert is oriented in the vector such that transcription from the T7 promoter gives the sense strand.
