| Comments: | Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--2.7, 2.1; HindIII--3.5, 1.3; BamHI--4.8; PstI--4.8; SalI--4.8. A 0.73 kb EcoRI/HindIII fragment from the insert has been sequenced partially, demonstrating a repeat of about 171 bp with homology to alpha satellite sequence families. At low stringency (2X SSC, 50% formamide, 37C), silver grains are observed over centromeric regions of a number of chromosomes. At high stringency (0.2X SSC, 50% formamide, 37C), the signal is predominately at the 22 centromeric region. |
