A 1.3 kb EcoRI fragment of the clone can be used to detect a variant 12.0 kb TaqI fragment. This sequence is closely linked to D1S85. The TaqI polymorphism has been typed in the following CEPH families: 1331, 13293, 13291, 1424, 13294, 13292. The allele frequencies recorded for the TaqI polymorphism were determined in a Caucasian population. Distinct frequencies have been determined in Negro and Bushman (San) populations. Enzyme(s) not detecting polymorphism: MspI, BglII, SstI, AvaII, StuI, PvuII, PstI, EcoRI, BamHI, HindIII, HincII, RsaI, MboI. |
