| Comments： | The insert contains the following restriction sites (in nucleotides from the 5 end): BalI--2252; BglII--988, 1058, 2320, 2369; PstI--1338, 2367. Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI/HindIII--4.35, 2.65; BamHI--7.0; SalI--7.0; PvuII--4.35, 2.65; PstI--3.9, 2.0, 1.1. The primary transcript is encoded in sequences from 1126 to 2605; mature peptides are encoded from 2372 to 2455 (somatostatin 28) or 2414 to 2455 (somatostatin 14). The intron extends from 1369 to 2245. Detects a genomic EcoRI fragment of 20 kb in the mouse. The polymorphic BamHI site is in the intron 31 bp 3 to the exon/intron boundary.
