This insert does not hybridize to mouse DNA or to DNA from Callithrix jacchus or Cercopithecus aethiops. Multiple EcoRI bands were detected in Southern blots from Pan troglodytes and Pongo pygmaeus. This insert contains a tandemly organized 48 bp sequence, repeated 8 times. The consensus sequence is cagaacactgcta(c/t)gagggtctgaatgtttgtccctcacataggattc.
