Expression vector permitting visual detection of recombinants when plated on skim milk indicator plates by the loss or reduction of a halo around a colony. Contains the signal sequence for the neutral protease, so that recombinants in-frame with the gene may be exported. Constructed by an in-frame replacement of part of the pro-peptide coding region with part of the MCS from pUC19.
