| Comments: | Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BamHI--20.0, 16.0, 9.2, 2.8; EcoRI--20.0, 14.0, 9.2, 5.6; HindIII--23.0, 10.0, 7.8, 1.6; SacI--20.0, 9.2, 5.6, 4.6, 2.8, 2.5, 1.0 (doublet); XhoI--20.0, 14.0, 9.2, 5.0. The insert contains the following restriction sites (approximate kb from the 5 BamHI site): BamHI--2.8, 18.7; HindIII--9.5, 17.5; EcoRI--13.7. A 0.6 kb XhoI/PstI fragment has been used as an alpha-specific probe. The 3.8 kb EcoRI/HindIII fragment contains sequences characteristic of the A2m(2) allotype constant region and its 5 flanking sequences. The 1.1 kb HindIII/BamHI fragment contains the transmembrane exon. The insert begins just 5 to the sequences encoding the epsilon constant region and extend approximately 4.3 kb beyond the exons for the alpha chain. Additional GenBank/EMBL accession numbers: M35287, M35291. |
