| Strain: | BALB/c |
| Applications: | It reacts with a single protein in Western blots of A-431 cells (ATCC CRL-1555) corresponding to purified 130 kDa myocardial calpastatin. The antibody is specific for human calpastatin. The antibody can be used for immunochemical and Western blot applications. It is a useful tool for detecting calpastatin. |
| Storage Conditions: | liquid nitrogen vapor phase |
| Derivation: | Animals were immunized with calpastatin isolated from human erythrocytes. The antibody is specific for human calpastatin. It reacts with a single protein in Western blots of A-431 cells (ATCC CRL-1555) corresponding to purified 130 kDa myocardial calpastatin. Spleen cells were fused with P3X63Ag8.653 mouse myeloma cells. |
| Genes Expressed: | immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against human calpastatin |
| Cellular Products: | immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against human calpastatin |

| Complete Growth Medium: | The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, ATCC 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum (ATCC 30-2020) to a final concentration of 10%.
|
| Subculturing: | Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension. An inoculum of 5 x 103 to 3 x 104 viable cells/mL is recommended. Maintain cell density between 1 x 104 and 1 x 105 viable cells/mL. Do not exceed 5 x 105 cells/mL. Medium Renewal:xa0 Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density) |
| Cryopreservation: | Complete growth medium described above supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO.xa0 Cell culture tested DMSO is available as ATCC Catalog No. 4-X. |
| Culture Conditions: | Temperature: 37°C
Atmosphere: Air, 95%; Carbon dioxide (CO2), 5% |
| Isotype: | IgG1 kappa , IgG1; kappa light chain |
| Population Doubling Time: | 15 hours |
