| Comments: | Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--2.9, 2.3; ClaI--4.2, 1.37; BamHI--5.25. The proto-vav gene is not expressed at detectable levels in epithelial, mesenchymal or neuroectodermal cell lines but is readily detected in cell lines of hematopoietic origin. A partial cDNA clone corresponding to nucleotides 593 to 2765 (with ATG initiator codon at nt 111). The probe was generated by the depositors while both were at the Frederick Cancer Research Facility, Frederick, MD 21701. The insert was cloned from a third cycle NIH 3T3 cell transfectant originally transformed with DNA derived from human esophageal carcinoma. The vav oncogene was activated during gene transfer. |
