| Disease: | fibrosarcoma |
| Strain: | BALB/c |
| Applications: | These cellsxa0can be used as target cells for short term chromium release cytotoxicity assays. |
| Storage Conditions: | liquid nitrogen vapor phase |
| Derivation: | This line was originally established by M. Rollinghoff and N.L. Warner from a fibrosarcoma induced by subcutaneous injections of 3-methylcholanthrene. |
| Comments: | After pretreatment with actinomycin D, the cells are highly sensitive to human cytotoxic monocytes, to human tumor necrosis factor and to lymphotoxin.
Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox). |
| Complete Growth Medium: | The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, ATCC 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum (ATCC 30-2020) to a final concentration of 10%.
|
| Subculturing: | Remove medium, add fresh Trypsin-EDTA Solution, 1X (ATCC® 30-2101™) for 1 to 2 minutes. Remove trypsin and place the flask at 37°C until the cells detach (about 3 to 5 minutes). Add fresh medium, aspirate and dispense into new flasks.
Subcultivation Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:5 to 1:20 is recommended
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days |
| Cryopreservation: | culture medium 95%; DMSO, 5% |
| Culture Conditions: | Temperature: 37°C |
| Name of Depositor: | TW LeBien |
| Deposited As: | Mus musculus |
