The antigen is expressed on cultured human fibroblasts and sarcomas. In normal tissues, S5 antigen expression is limited to visceral smooth muscle. In a survey of tumors, S5 staining was limited to a subset of leiomyosarcomas and the staining was generally weaker than that with normal smooth muscle. |
