| Tumorigenic: | Yes |
| Effects: | Yes, forms tumors in nude mice |
| Comments: | The cells are negative for Epstein-Barr virus.
Both the parental line (TS211039) and the derivative cell line Ramos.2G6.4C10 (ATCC CRL-1923) have about 1500 IL-4 binding sites per cell.
The cells are reported to secrete IgM (lambda light chain). |
| Complete Growth Medium: | The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: heat-inactivated fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
|
| Subculturing: | Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 2 X 105 viable cells/mL.
Maintain cell density between 2 X 105 and 1 X 106 viable cells/mL.xa0Corning® T-75 flasks (catalog #431464) are recommended for subculturing this product.
Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density) |
| Cryopreservation: | culture medium 95%; DMSO, 5% |
