| Applications: | The antibody neutralizes the ability of lymphokine preparations to induce tumoricidal activity in murine macrophages.xa0 The antibody neutralizes the antiviral effect of gamma interferon but does not affect the activities of murine alpha and beta interferon or rat or human gamma interferon. 30 ng of R4-6A2 antibody neutralizes the antiviral activity of 10 units of murine gamma interferon. |
| Storage Conditions: | liquid nitrogen vapor phase |
| Derivation: | Animals were immunized with partially purified murine gamma interferon.xa0 Spleen cells were fused with P3U-1 myeloma cells. |
| Genes Expressed: | immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against mouse gamma interferon |
| Cellular Products: | immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against mouse gamma interferon |
| Tumorigenic: | Yes |
| Effects: | Forms ascites in nude mice. |

Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox). |
| Complete Growth Medium: | The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbeccos Modified Eagles Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
|
| Subculturing: | Cultures can be maintained by addition of fresh medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 5 x 104xa0viable cells/mL. Maintain cultures at a cell concentration between 6 x 104xa0and 6 x 105xa0cells/mL. Do not allow the cell concentration to reach 1 x 106xa0cells/mL.
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Note: Do not allow the cell concentration to reach 1 x 106 cells/mL. |
| Cryopreservation: | Complete culture medium, 92.5%; DMSO, 7.5%.xa0Cell culture tested DMSO is available as ATCC Catalog No. 4-X. |
| Culture Conditions: | Temperature: 37°C
Atmosphere: Air, 95%; Carbon dioxide (CO2), 5% |
| Isotype: | IgG1 |
