| Comments: | Karyotypic analysis of the cell population shows that a major portion of the cell population (approximately 90%) possesses 47 chromosomes, with 5 chromosomes belonging to the G group. These karyotypic findings have been found to persist essentially unchanged through at least 30 serial subcultures. Note: xa0Cytogenetic information is based on initial seed stock at ATCC. |
| Complete Growth Medium: | Minimum essential medium (Eagle) in Earles BSS with non-essential amino acids, sodium pyruvate (1 mM) and 0.1% lactalbumin hydrolysate, 90%; fetal bovine serum, 10%. Maintain pH at 7.3 to 7.4
|
| Subculturing: | Volumes used in this protocol are for 75 cm2 flask; proportionally reduce or increase amount of dissociation medium for culture vessels of other sizes.
Subcultivation Ratio: 1:2 to 1:4 Note: For more information on enzymatic dissociation and subculturing of cell lines consult Chapter 10 in Culture of Animal Cells, a Manual of Basic Technique by R. Ian Freshney, 3rd edition, published by Alan R. Liss, N.Y., 1994. |
