| Comments: | Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox). |
| Complete Growth Medium: | Dulbeccos modified Eagles medium with 4.5 g/L glucose; 90%; fetal bovine serum, 10% Phenol Red is a structural mimic for estrogen. Therefore the estrogenic activity of phenol red should be considered in any studies that utilize estrogen-responsive cells in culture (Ref |
| Subculturing: | Remove medium, rinse with fresh 0.25% trypsin, 0.03% EDTA solution for 2 to 3 minutes, remove trypsin and let the culture sit at room temperature (or 37°C) until cells detach (about 10 minutes). Add fresh medium, aspirate and dispense into new flasks.
Subcultivation Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:5 to 1:15 is recommended
