Cell Type: hybridoma: B lymphocyte
Product Format: frozen
Morphology: lymphoblast
Culture Properties: suspension
Biosafety Level: 1

Biosafety classification is based on U.S. Public Health Service Guidelines, it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their facilities comply with biosafety regulations for their own country.

Disease: Erythroleukemia
Applications:
The antibody reacts with the p15 protein from several MuLV including Friend, Moloney, Rauscher, amphotropic and Spleen Focus Forming (SFFV) viruses.
The antibody reacts with infected cells after acetone fixation and immunoprecipitates p15.
Storage Conditions: liquid nitrogen vapor phase
Derivation:
Spleen cells from a mouse recovering from erythroleukemia induced by a B-tropic Friend murine leukemia virus were fused with NS-1 myeloma cells.
Genes Expressed:
immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against p15 group antigen (GAG) protein of murine leukemia viruses (MuLV)
Cellular Products:
immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against p15 group antigen (GAG) protein of murine leukemia viruses (MuLV)

Complete Growth Medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium:
  • fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%
  • 0.05 mM 2-mercaptoethanol

Subculturing:
Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 2 x 105 cells/mL and maintain between 1 x 105 and 1 x 106 cells/mL.
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Cryopreservation:

Complete growth medium described above supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO.xa0 Cell culture tested DMSO is available as ATCC Catalog No. 4-X.

Culture Conditions:
Temperature: 37°C
Atmosphere: Air, 95%; Carbon dioxide (CO2), 5%
Isotype: IgG2b , IgG2b
Name of Depositor: B Chesebro
Deposited As: mouse (B cell); mouse (myeloma)
