| Disease: | Leukemia |
| Strain: | NIH/Swiss |
| Applications: | produces protein beta-galactosidase beta-D-galactosidase |
| Derivation: | The CRE BAG 2 cell line has never produced a replication competent helper virus. The cells will package vectors derived from murine leukemia viruses. |
| Genes Expressed: | a beta galactosidase transducing vector (BAG),beta-galactosidase(beta-D-galactosidase) lacZ,beta-galactosidase |
| Cellular Products: | a beta galactosidase transducing vector (BAG) |
| Comments: | The BAG construct has been used to transfect psiCRE cells in TS214317 and to transfect psi2 cells in ATCC CRL-9560. The CRE BAG 2 cell line has never produced a replication competent helper virus. This line produces a vector (BAG) that can infect mouse and rat cells and transduce beta-galactosidase activity. The line is similar to the psi 2 BAG alpha line (see ATCC CRL-9560) but has never been known to produce a replication competent helper virus. The cells will package vectors derived from murine leukemia viruses. The vector has been used to infect a variety of neural cell types and to express beta-galactosidase and resistance to G418. |
| Complete Growth Medium: | Dulbeccos modified Eagles medium with 4.5 g/L glucose, 90%; bovine calf serum, 10%
|
| Subculturing: | Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days Remove medium, add fresh 0.25% trypsin - 0.02% EDTA and allow the flask to sit at room temperature (or 37C) until the cells detach (2 to 3 minutes). Add fresh medium, aspirate and dispense into new flasks. |
