| Origin ： | established in 1996 from the tumor tissue of a 57-year-old Caucasian man with local recurrence of follicular thyroid cancer (containing well-differentiated with dispersed poorly differentiated areas). Cells express the transcriptionally inactive (dominant negativ) delta-p53 isoform which is additionally mutated resulting in a truncated p53 form and a short 5 KDA fragment (delta p53 -/-). A sister cell line with an untruncated delta-p53 is available (ACC 510). Useful for studies with p53 family members p63 and p73 |
